Hello!
It has been my life’s journey to train for and work with emotionally wounded people. As an EMDR Certified Therapist and EMDR Consultant, I help adults heal from all types of traumas to include recent events (i.e. motor vehicle accidents or natural disasters) and remote experiences (i.e. childhood physical, sexual, and emotional abuse and neglect). Other special interests are mood struggles such as depression and anxiety to include helping clients overcome fears and phobias, worry less, and sleep more.
Dr. Robin Navarro, Psy.D.
As an EMDRIA Certified Therapist and Consultant first trained in 2010, I am committed to continuing the educational process and adhering to the full ethical standards.
My Story
It has been my life’s journey to train for and work with emotionally wounded people. While I am a doctoral level psychologist who graduated in 2007 with a Psy.D. in clinical psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Washington DC, it was back in childhood that I first began considering which career path I might take to best help those who are hurting. Ever a lifelong learner, I was excited to expand my knowledge post-graduation and over time, was trained in EMDR therapy, ego state therapy, and hypnosis, among other modalities.
It has been a true joy to have worked in private practice in the Charlotte area for over 15 years. Much of my clinical focus has been on helping adults heal from all types of traumas to include recent events (i.e. motor vehicle accidents or natural disasters) and remote experiences (i.e. childhood physical, sexual, and emotional abuse and neglect). Other special interests are mood struggles such as depression and anxiety to include helping clients overcome fears and phobias, worry less, and sleep more. Helping other mental health providers understand complex trauma and structural dissociation has also been close to my heart, along with assisting EMDR trained clinicians in obtaining EMDRIA certification and improving their skill set.
